My passion for perfumery was sparked fifteen years ago by a book and a handful of essential oils, gifts from a friend. Since then, I have been studying and experimenting. In a parallel Florentine life, I graduated in History of Art and then worked in book publishing for a long while. I moved to Berlin, Luxembourg then finally to Amsterdam, where I currently live.
My perfumes are conceived and handcrafted by me from initial spark to final bottling in my laboratory. The constant search for quality raw materials is not just crucial for the product, it’s a passion to which I am compelled to surrender. Trying out another rose absolute, or an unusual material which is new to me, or a special aroma chemical gives me great pleasure and gratification.
Actual circumstances, states of mind and intuitions fraught with a troubling, sensorial, emotional or spiritual meaning are the source of my inspiration. These are my epiphanies. I am not interested in merely copying their smell, but in conjuring them up and at the same time, expressing the emotional thrill I experience during these epiphanic occurrences.
