Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier
HISTORY OF THE BRAND
The Brand Maître Parfumeur et Gantier®
The Brand was created in 1988 by the famous perfumer Jean-François Laporte. It was inspired by the salons of Glover Perfumers from the 17th century to create a welcoming and elegant universe dedicated to exceptional perfumes. Just like these salons, our Parisian boutique recreated the intimate atmosphere of these high places of olfactive enjoyment, with marble floors, walls covered with leather of Cordoba, and a ceiling embellished with a trompe-l'œil.
The manufacturing of perfumed gloves:
The choice of skins varied according to the cities of origin. The city of Vendôme was the reference for the kid leather. The gloves of Spain were particularly estimated for their delicacy. It was the local perfumed specialty which made the fame of the city of Grasse.
It was about a mixture consisted of spices, powder of iris, musk and chive. Skins were tanned first then impregnated with oil which, put in the contact of fresh flower, absorbing its essence.
Today still Maître Parfumeur et Gantier creates, in his Parisian boutique, gloves made exclusively in the city of Millau, in which are deposited small bags of perfumed powder.
